January 10 and 11, 2003 - The NOAA-CREST/NASA EPSCoR Joint Symposium
that was held on on the Mayaguez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.
It was a successful scientific event with approximately 100 researchers and students from Puerto Rico and the U. S. Mainland in attendance. Approximately 40 abstracts, papers and posters were presented. A press conference, announcing the upcoming Atlas Mission, was held on Thursday January 9, 2003. Newspaper and Television coverage was excellent.
